Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has been shortlisted by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State following the party’s ongoing screening of governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 election.

Party sources said Ajadi appeared before the screening committee on Thursday as part of consultations aimed at selecting the party’s candidate.

The committee, chaired by Bolaji Ayorinde, is expected to forward its recommendations for further review by party leaders, including Governor Seyi Makinde.

According to insiders, Ajadi was among those considered for the next stage of the selection process after the screening exercise, which forms part of the PDP’s internal procedures to assess aspirants.

The exercise, which began earlier in March, also involves other aspirants, including Debo Akande, Adedeji Olajide, Segun Ogunwuyi, Nureni Aderemi, Bimbo Adekanmbi, Fatai Owoseni and Oluseye Opatoki.

Party officials said the process is designed to evaluate aspirants based on criteria such as experience, acceptability and electoral prospects, as the PDP prepares for the 2027 governorship race in the state.

The screening is expected to continue in the coming days, after which the party leadership will review the outcome as consultations intensify toward producing its candidate.
