From George Onyejiuwa, Owerri
The Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese and President Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria ( CBCN), His Grace Most Rev Luicius Iwejuru Ugorji has commended Mr Charles Oguibe for a chapel for his community, saying that he had not only built a House for God but has also registered his name in the good books of life .
He said the late patriarch of the Oguibe family, Livinus oguibe had lived an exemplary life and had imparted solid Christian virtues into his family, which he noted has manifested in the lifestyle of the Charles Oguibe which is why he had singlehandedly built the Chapel for the community.
Recall that Mr Charles Oguibe, a seasoned financial expert, and one of the sons of late Livinus Oguibe had in December 2022 laid the foundation stone for construction of a Chapel to his home Parish, Christ the King Catholic Church, Eziama.
During the foundation laying ceremony in December 2022 ,he had promised to complete the Chapel in December 2023, a promised he kept.
Ugorji made the commendation at the dedication of the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for Christ the King Church ( CKC) in Eziama community in Ngor Okpala council area of Imo on 27 December 2023.
Delivering the homily, Archbishop Ugorji explained that the Chapel dedication was part of events earmarked for the 10 years memorial anniversary of the late Patriarch of the Oguibe family, Mr. Livinus Oguibe who he said is resting blissfully in bosom of the Lord.
He said , “Charles Oguibe did not only build a place of worship for God, he has also registered his name in the good books of life, a legacy that would leave for decades.
“The same way Charles built a Chapel of worship in this Church after he was taken to a shrine, was the same way I did when I was at Umuahia and made all manner of people, especially politicians to see it as a place of covenant with God before they could embark on any electoral pursuit”.
Therefore, Ugorji charged the donor not to relent in sowing in God’s vineyard, even as he enjoined the People of God on selfless giving, Charity and strong faith in God.
The Parish priest of the Christ the King Church, Eziama,
Fr. Onyekwere further commended Mr Charles Oguibe and family for the beautiful Chapel of Adoration built for the Church and prayed for God’s blessings, protection on the family.
