Over 40,000 candidates screened for Nigerian Army recruitment

Over 40,000 candidates who applied to join the Nigerian Army are currently undergoing a screening exercise in the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Over 40,000 candidates who applied to join the Nigerian Army are currently undergoing a screening exercise in the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The candidates were shortlisted from over 103,000 applicants who applied to join the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (88-RRI) of the Nigerian Army. The online registration for the 88 RRI began on 30 September 2024 and ended on 8 November 2024.

The screening exercise, which started on 5 December and is taking place in all army formations and units across the 36 states and the FCT, is expected to end on 19 December.

During the screening, candidates are expected to undergo comprehensive medical examinations, physical fitness tests, psychological screenings to identify drug and substance addicts, and certificate verification. Additionally, candidates will undergo security checks to ensure they are not cultists and have no criminal records.

At the end of the exercise, the names of successful applicants will be published on the Nigerian Army website.

Successful applicants are expected to resume training at the Depot, Nigerian Army, Zaria, Kaduna State, in January 2025.
