The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has disclosed that it may record the highest number of candidates that would participate in the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB spokesman, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, dropped the hint at an interaction session with the Education Correspondent in Abuja, on Friday, disclosing that JAMB is expecting the participation of a little above two million candidates in the 2024 UTME exercise.

He said that on the average, over 100,000 candidates register for the UTME on daily basis since the commencement of the registration in January, noting, however, that the figure has begun to drop.

“So far, close to 1.8 million candidates have registered for the 2024 UTME as at Friday, and counting. We have few more days left to the deadline, and we expect that there would be ‘rush hour’ registration.

He, however, confirmed that JAMB is making adequate arrangements to ensure hitch-free UTME exercise starting from the mock UTME exercise.

He, thus encouraged candidates still interested in the 2024 UTME but yet to register to hurry up and complete their registration, hinting that JAMB was not considering an extension of the registration window.
