Outrage over non-passing of gender equality Bill

Nigerians took to social media on Tuesday over news that the legislative bill on Gender and Equal Opportunity failed to pass second reading at the Senate. Hashtag #AntiWomenSenate (promoted by activist journalist @omojuwa) trended on Twitter with mostly negative commentary on the development over what some consider a setback for gender parity in the country.
