The suspended Chairman of Osun State Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (Jusun), Gbenga Eludire, and the caretaker secretary of the union, Salam Saheed, have sang discordant tune over suspension of the strike by the unikn.
While the Secretary said work has started in the courts, Wednesday, Eludire said work will start next week.
Speaking with our correspondent in Osogbo, Saheed said that skeletal work has begun in the court while activities will begin next week Monday.
“We have resumed today (Wednesday). Workers were at their various offices, including myself. People have started cleaning the office and doing some skeletal work for a full resumption by Monday. The strike has been called off and we are in tune with the National leadership of the union,” Saheed said.
Earlier, a release by Eludire on behalf of the national president of Jusun, Marwan Adamu, had directed all staff to resume work, on Monday, March 11.
According to the release, the suspension became necessary having fulfilled all stipulated conditions outlined in the tripartite MoA signed by governor Ademola Adeleke, Justice Ojo, and Adamu.
“There shall be no victimization of any form against any judicial officers or any
members of JUSUN for participating directly or indirectly in the strike action or as a result of the strike action.
“That the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is hereby urged to convey a
meeting within 7 days from the day of suspension of the strike to enable the
commission to attend to other demands of the union such as regularization and
promotion of all qualified members of staff. That this decision applies to all categories of workers within the Osun State judiciary,” the release said.
