The National Executive and Board of Trustees of Ifon-Orolu Progressive Union, Ifon, has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to release the White Paper on Report of 100-Man Committee on Ifon / Ilobu & Boundary Dispute Resolution.

Governor Adeleke, in January 2025, constituted an enlarged 100 member High Powered Land Crisis Resolution Committee with each of the affected communities of Ifon, Ilobu and Erin having 25 representatives each while the state Government equally represented by 25 members.

Adeleke charged the committee to unravel the remote causes of land dispute among Ifon-Osun in Orolu Local Government, Erin-Osun and Ilobu in Irepodun Local Government and recommend a permanent solution to the dispute within two weeks.

Eleven months after, Alhaji Mohammed Oyedeji; IPU National President; Alhaji Segun Adeosun, National Secretary; Dr. Olusegun Oyewo, Chairman; IPU BOT and secretary, Prince Jide Akinyooye; in a communiqué on Tuesday, commended Olufon  and permanent chairman of Irepodun/Orolu Traditional Council of Obas, Oba Peter Oluwole, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Olatoye Olaniyan and Elerin of Erin-Osun, Oba Adekunle Omoloye, for fostering peace in Ifon-Orolu /Ilobu and Erin-Osun. “This manifests that perpetual peace has returned to the entire Irepodun and Orolu Local Government areas of Osun State.

“We appreciate the efforts of the Osun State Government and urge the release of the White Paper on Report on100-Man Committee on Ifon/Ilobu & Boundary Dispute Resolution.

“The release of the expected White Paper will promote public confidence on transparency, accountability, policy guidance and engagement of the concerned stakeholders towards lasting resolution on communal clashes.

“We acknowledge progress in Osun State infrastructural development in the Osun State Capital and other places BUT lament the neglect of Post-Office Junction – Olufon Royal Palace Road, Ifon-Orolu.
