From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on Thursday said the government has taken over the disputed land between Ifon in Orolu Local Government and Ilobu in Irepodun Local Government Area.
Adeleke made the pronouncement at Aurora Event Centre, Osogbo, during the maiden quarterly accountability platform tagged “Ipade Imole.”
He condemned the killing and destruction of properties in the warring towns, saying the government had taken over the disputed land.
“I have given a directive that nobody should be seen on the disputed land. Anybody they see there should be arrested and prosecuted. The state government has taken over the disputed land.
“The kings and leaders should come together. If government takes over all your land, you will know.
“I have informed the Chief of Army Staff who hails from Ilobu and he has given a standing order to soldiers to be in charge,” Adeleke said.
