From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has urged members of the Accord Party to join his campaign, claiming their party is in decline.
Speaking in Osogbo during a meeting organised by the Ajisope Development Initiative with defectors from various political backgrounds, Oyebamiji emphasized that there is no viable future for those remaining in the Accord Party. “Tell them to come and join us. The president did not instruct anyone to go to Accord Party as they claim,” he stated.
He encouraged members of the Ajisope initiative to focus on their electoral units, promoting an “operation win your unit” strategy to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.
Addressing rumours regarding his intentions as governor, Oyebamiji denied allegations that he planned to reduce workers’ salaries, asserting, “no reasonable person will try that.”
He also refuted claims of releasing an unfavorable governance blueprint, suggesting that such narratives are merely attempts to divert attention from the current government’s shortcomings ahead of the August 8 elections.
