The South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) has actively canvassed votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election.
Launching SWAGA 2.0 in Osogbo on Tuesday, the National Chairman of SWAGA, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, declared that President Bola Tinubu has no agreement with any other governorship candidate in the state except Oyebamiji.
“The candidate of President Bola Tinubu in Osun is Bola Oyebamiji. Tinubu did not make any agreement with anybody. Don’t let anybody deceive you. Tinubu says he will be happy if you add Osun to the APC fold. Therefore, we want you to vote overwhelmingly for Oyebamiji in the August 15 governorship election,” Adeyeye said.
Expressing confidence in the President’s wider political outlook, Adeyeye asserted that Tinubu is positioned to win all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in future electoral pursuits, pointing to his proactive governance, such as preventing university strikes, as well as ongoing agricultural revolutions and infrastructure developments as clear indicators of success.
He also noted that state governments have become significantly more buoyant, enabling governors to pay salaries with ease since Tinubu assumed office.
The Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Hon. Hulayat Omidiran, stated that the group’s mission in Osun is to back Oyebamiji, whom she described as representing experienced leadership, compassionate confidence, and integrity.
“I therefore appeal passionately to every eligible voter in Osun State to come out in large numbers and support the All Progressives Congress by voting overwhelmingly for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) on the 15th of August, 2026,” Omidiran urged.
She said, “Your vote is not merely a constitutional right; it is a powerful instrument for securing the future of our children, strengthening our democracy, and accelerating the socio-economic development of our dear state. Let us reject division and embrace unity.”
Omidiran also called on youths to remain peaceful and law-abiding, commended women as the backbone of the movement, and expressed appreciation for the stabilising roles played by elders and traditional institutions.
Representing the APC candidate, former Osun State House of Assembly Chief Whip, Hon. Lekan Olatunji, noted that Oyebamiji is committed to establishing a prudent government focused on practical development rather than wasting billions on white-elephant projects.
