Ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Osun State on Wednesday staged a vibrant “Walk to Victory” rally to drum up support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
Hundreds of members gathered at the popular Aiyetoro area in Osogbo, marching through major commercial hubs, including Igbona Market, Old Garage, MDS, Olaiya and Ogo-Oluwa. The procession eventually terminated at the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Office in Osogbo.
Addressing participants after the march, the Osun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mr Sunday Akere, explained that the mobilisation was designed to demonstrate the group’s commitment to securing victory for Oyebamiji at the polls.
Akere noted that the rally also served as a sensitisation campaign to remind residents of the importance of political change in the state. Expressing optimism about the election outcome, he revealed that the group has an active structure of more than 95,000 members spread across the state.
According to him, the turnout reflected growing grassroots momentum for the APC standard-bearer, driven by the electorate’s desire for a leader focused on sustainable development and effective service delivery. He maintained that the coalition was relying entirely on its grassroots mobilisation rather than federal influence.
“Our coming out today is to show our support and commitment towards the victory of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the candidate of the APC, on Saturday. What we have here today is the Renewed Hope Ambassador structure in Osun, mobilising support and telling the people of Osun that it is time for change. Come Saturday, August 15, the people of Osun will vote en masse for the APC and for our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, who, by the grace of God, will become the next governor,” Akere stated.

Also speaking, the Director of Security for the group, Amos Adekunle Victor, appealed for a peaceful and violence-free electoral process, assuring voters that adequate security measures would be in place.
“We just want it to be a violence-free and peaceful election. Everybody should come out and vote. Security will be provided for everybody that needs to come and vote. Rest assured that it’s going to be peaceful. Security will be there, the votes will be counted, and the votes will count,” Victor assured.
Adebowale Azeem emphasised that the turnout demonstrated the group’s self-reliance.
“You can see the turnout. If we were banking on federal might, you would not see this kind of turnout. Numerous people are here trying to ensure victory in the election on Saturday,” he noted.
Meanwhile, Dr Romoke Abiola pledged massive mobilisation among women across the state’s 30 local government areas and the area office in support of Oyebamiji, whom she described as a resourceful and productive leader.
“When we talk about productivity, AMBO is there, so the women should expect prosperity,” she declared.
