The hunter community in Osun State has officially endorsed the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 governorship election, vowing to mobilise over 100,000 votes for his victory.
The decision was made public by the Head of the Hunters, Hammed Nureni, who cited deep dissatisfaction with the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
According to Nureni, the group felt compelled to shift its support due to the current administration’s alleged failure to address or listen to the concerns of hunters in the state.
“We want to assure you that by August 15, we are going to vote out the present administration. We want this to be a lesson to all political parties that you don’t underrate anyone.
“We tried to negotiate with the present administration to let them know our problems; we wrote to them, but they called us useless people. That is why our people have decided to vote them out. We have up to 14,000 direct members, and when you add our wives, children, and friends, we will deliver over 100,000 votes on August 15,” Nureni said.

In his response, the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, described the endorsement as timely, noting that it reflects broad-based backing from various segments of Osun State society.
Expressing optimism ahead of the polls, Oyebamiji said the endorsement gladdened his heart and expressed confidence that he would win the upcoming election cleanly, relying solely on God and the mandate of the Osun electorate.
“This is coming at the right time, and it signifies that all segments of Osun have endorsed Bola Oyebamiji to be governor of the state,” Oyebamiji said.
“This gladdens my heart that we will be winning this election without any rigging, without any support apart from God and the people of Osun State.”
