The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Hon. Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the August 15 election.

APGA’s gubernatorial candidate for the poll, Prince Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, announced his decision to step down and throw his weight behind Oyebamiji during a political gathering in Osogbo on Saturday.

According to Adeyemi-Doro, the move followed extensive consultations with the party’s executives and members across the state.

“I am here today to declare publicly to the good people of Osun State our allegiance, support, and collaboration as we join His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, and the All Progressives Congress.

“I have been watching the candidates closely, and after wide consultations with my state chairman, secretary, and other senior members of the party, we have reached an alignment. At the end of the day, we are all progressives. We look forward to a situation where, by the special grace of God, we will deliver Osun State to our governor, Oyebamiji,” he stated.

In his response, Hon. Oyebamiji expressed deep appreciation for the endorsement, assuring the defecting APGA members that they would be fully integrated into his administration if elected.

“Thank you so much. I appreciate this, and I want to assure you that we will work together to rescue Osun State from the current bad government. Your people will be taken care of,” Oyebamiji pledged.

“I am glad about this development, and we will also reach out to other parties so that we can join hands together to build a greater Osun State.”

Also speaking at the event, Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola, the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Protocol to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described the political alignment as a major milestone.

He noted that the development is a clear indicator that the APC is poised for victory in both the upcoming August 15 governorship election and the 2027 presidential poll.

“Let me commend Prince Adeyemi-Doro for this bold step,” Niniola remarked. “This will not only lead to the victory of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15 election, but it will also boost the chances of our dear father, President Bola Tinubu, in 2027. The APC is the party to beat, and this shows that people are in tune with the Renewed Hope initiatives of Mr. President,” Niniola said.
