The Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has stated that the recent police raid on the residence of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, justifies its earlier warnings regarding political violence and electoral misconduct by the ruling party.
Reacting to the development, the Head of Media and Publicity for the Osun APC Campaign Council, Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, noted that the party has spent months raising the alarm over the activities of violent political elements in the state.
“We have repeatedly warned that Governor Ademola Adeleke and his co-travellers, having lost the confidence of the people, have resorted to intimidation, violence, and other unlawful means in a bid to influence the forthcoming governorship election, even when the people of Osun have rejected them on account of their poor performance. This latest raid has vindicated our party,” Omowaiye stated.
The APC Campaign Council commended the Nigeria Police Force for executing what it described as a professional operation.

The party urged security agencies to maintain the momentum by thoroughly investigating any locations where credible intelligence points to the stockpiling of weapons or the harbouring of criminal elements, emphasising that no individual should be placed above the law.
Reiterating the party’s stance on peaceful participation, the statement emphasised that the peace and security of Osun State must not be compromised for political ambition.
“The people of the state deserve to exercise their democratic rights in an atmosphere free from fear, intimidation, coercion, or violence. The APC Governorship Campaign Council remains committed to peaceful, issue-based campaigning and calls on all political actors to shun violence and respect the democratic will of the people,” the council added.
