The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has taunted Governor Ademola Adeleke, saying the “outgoing governor is confused.”
Speaking to party members and supporters at his hometown, Ikire, headquarters of Irewole local government, during the APC campaign yesterday, Oyebamiji said Adeleke’s public outburst against President Bola Tinubu indicates confusion.
He argued that the APC no longer expects the kind of voting pattern used in 2022 where, he said, voting reportedly lasted till 11pm.
Oyebamiji declared that it is “time to work,” adding that dancing is “enough,” and insisted that the APC will win if voting happens tomorrow.
He urged supporters not to fight, but to “go and vote.”
In Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government, Oyebamiji promised that good governance and security would be his top priorities.
He criticized Adeleke’s record in office, claiming that the least monthly allocation Osun has received since Adeleke assumed office is N16 billion, but that there is “nothing tangible” to show.
Oyebamiji said he visited Ode-Omu and did not see projects he attributed to the governor’s achievement, alleging that the only visible activity was the “repainting of the cooperative building,” which he claimed did not use state funds, while the Federal Government, he said, provided intervention funds for maintenance of the cooperative society and the school.
He further claimed that roads in areas like Gbongan, as well as projects in Apomu and Ikire, were not built with Osun state government funds, but through funds sourced from constituency projects released by President Tinubu.
The Olufi of Gbongan, Oba Adetoyese Oyeniyi, urged the people to vote for Oyebamiji, saying they should rely on his “antecedents.”
The monarch said if Oyebamiji is told where to vote, supporters should ensure they vote there, and assured them that they will receive their votes “in full,” appealing for their confidence and peace of mind.
