From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

Some hoodlums on Thursday caused chaos as they disrupted Permanent Voters Card, PVC’s collection centre in Ilesa, Osun State.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Ilesa West Local Government Area where residents had gathered to collect their PVCs.

Sources said the incident caused panic as residents scampered for safety upon the arrival of the hoodlums.

The Public Relations Officer, Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Olabisi Atanda, confirmed the incident.

She said the hoodlums ransacked some wards in Ilesa West which included wards 1, 3 and 7.

“The hoodlums did not let people collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs). No arrest made yet but we are hunting for the hoodlums,” Atanda added.

She said the NSCDC and the police have met to discuss how to prevent future occurrences.
