I received with sadness the news of the passing of HRH Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha, JP, the Paramount Ruler of Ebem Ujuruezie Ancient Kingdom, at the age of 89.
Only a few months ago, we celebrated his 89th birthday and 35 remarkable years on the throne. Today, we mourn a respected royal father who devoted a greater part of his life to the service of his people.
Ezie Ukoha was a man of peace and wisdom. For decades, he remained committed to the unity and progress of Ebem Ohafia and to the preservation of the rich customs and traditions of our people. His passing is a painful loss not only to Ebem Ohafia but to the entire Ohafia community and Abia State.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, the Council of Chiefs and Elders, the Ebem Ohafia Development Union and the entire people of Ebem Ohafia.
As we mourn, we should also take solace in his long and fulfilled life, his 35 years of service on the throne and the legacies he left behind.
May Almighty God grant his family and the entire Ebem community the strength to bear this great loss, and may the soul of Ezie Ukoha Kalu Ukoha rest in peace. Amen.
