OPC commited to protect life, property in S’West

The Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) has reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of life and property in South West region of the country .
The group reaffirmed its commitment as it unveiled the activities lined up for the 2024 edition of Olokun Festival.
The annual festival,organized by the
Olokun Festival Foundation (OFF), an organisation established by the OPC under the leadership of the Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, to promote Yoruba culture and tradition.
Speaking at press conference yesterday,the chairman of the planning committee, Yinka Oguntimehin, who is also the Publicity Secretary of the OPC said the Olokun Festival Foundation has been celebrating more than 20 traditional festivals.
He disclosed that this year Olokun festival would fully commence on Tuesday,October 15, 2024, with prayer to Almighty God at Oodua House, Ikeja, among others, and end with the grand finale holding on October 22, 2024 at Suntan Beach in Badagry, Lagos.
Oguntimehin also assured that the issue of security of life and property have been taken care of,insisting that security remains topmost in the agenda of the OPC as a socio- cultural organisation and that is why his organisation has been doing its best to support the government on issue of security during and after the festival.
