More injury woes for Team Nigeria ahead of the World Athletics Championship as the duo of Udodiri Onwuzuruike and Time Godbless are doubtful for the Budapest competition.
The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has made known the list of athletes heading for the world championship but the names of the sprinters were missing in the list.
Daily Sun Sport was reliably informed that both athletes are nursing injuries sustained during the Nigeria national championships and the NCAA outdoor championships respectively.
Their absence from the list is coming barely hours after Godson Oghenebrume took to twitter to announce his withdrawal from the World Championship due to health
Onwuzurike, a former World U20 200m champion, aggravated the injury he copped at the NCAA finals when he ran for Nigeria in the men’s 4x100m relay event at the African region 2 championships in Lome, Togo last month.
Godbless injured her harm strings during the Nigerian Championships in Benin city, Edo state early last month and the 19 year old has reportedly failed to recover in time to make her first World Athletics Championships.
