A group of youths in Akure, the capital of Ondo State, are protesting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) raid on certain nightclubs on Saturday.
The youths who held a demonstration on Monday morning to express their displeasure with the functioning of the anti-graft agency were equipped with banners with various messages.
They asked for the quick release of those detained by EFCC officers and accused the commission’s operatives of assaulting several of the apprehended suspects.
It should be recalled that on Saturday, the Ibadan Zonal Directorate of the EFCC arrested one hundred and twenty-seven (127) accused online fraudsters in Akure.
The suspected online fraudsters were apprehended in an early morning sting operation during a “Yahoo Party” conducted concurrently.
