A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr Ghani Arobo has declared that he remains the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Owo/Ose federal constituency of Ondo State.

He said the recent judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to upload his name has validated his candidature.

Arobo in a statement issued by his counsel, Mr Ayodeji Ibikunle called on all his supporters, party members and patriotic citizens to remain calm and resolute.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on Wednesday declared Arobo as the authentic candidate of the APC in Owo/Ose federal constituency and ordered INEC to upload his name within 48 hours.

Ibikunle said “the Federal High Court, Abuja, delivered a clear judgment on August 5, 2026, declaring Hon. Abdulghani Rotimi Arobo, the rightful winner of the APC primary election for Owo/Ose federal constituency. That ruling vindicated the democratic choice of party members and reaffirmed the mandate freely given at the primary election.

“We recognise that the parties involved had filed a Notice of Appeal and a Motion for Stay of Execution at the Court of Appeal and notified INEC. Such legal steps are routine in electoral litigation, but they do not erase the High Court’s findings on the merits already established.

“Until a contrary order is issued by the Court of Appeal, the High Court judgment stands and remains authoritative for the purpose of clarity and public record.

“In the eyes of the law and for the avoidance of doubt, Hon. Abdulghani Rotimi Arobo continues to be the legitimately declared candidate of the All Progressives Congress for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency. We are confident that, when the appeal process is fully heard, justice and the rule of law will prevail and the people’s choice will be upheld.

“We call on party leaders, INEC and all stakeholders to respect due process, to act responsibly and to avoid actions that could inflame tensions or undermine democratic norms. Our supporters must remain peaceful, disciplined, and united in the face of attempts to subvert the will of party members.

“We will continue to pursue every lawful avenue to protect and defend the mandate bestowed on Hon. Abdulghani Rotimi Arobo,” he added.
