Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has forwarded the name of the Deputy Governor nominee for the state to the state House of Assembly for approval.
The nominee is Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, an indigene of Owo in Owo Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that the position of the deputy governor of the state became vacant following the emergence of Aiyedatiwa as the Governor of the state after the death of his predecessor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu.
Aiyedatiwa, the immediate past deputy governor of the state who served as the acting Governor for weeks, had emerged as the Governor following the death of Akeredolu, who died in hospital in Germany as a result of complications resulting from prostrate cancer.
The Governor announced yesterday that he had submitted Adelami’s name to the state House of Assembly as nominee for the post of the deputy governor.
Adelami hails from Owo, the same town with late Governor Akeredolu. He retired as Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly in 2018.
Adelami, a graduate of Business Administration from the University of Lagos, also holds an MBA from the Ogun State University, now Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.
He worked in different departments and agencies of the federal government before his retirement from the federal civil service.
