Ondo 2024: DSS arrests alleged vote-buyer with bags of money

The Department of State Services (DSS) detained an alleged vote-buyer in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election.

The alleged vote-buyer was captured with two bags of money thought to be intended to entice voters.

He was arrested about 9:00 a.m. on election day at Ward 4, Polling Unit 007, opposite St. Stephen’s Primary School in Akure, Ondo State.

Meanwhile, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa cast his vote at Polling Unit 6, Ward 4 in Obenla, Ilaje LGA.

Aiyedatiwa is contesting to retain the governorship seat in the off-cycle election against 16 other candidates from different political parties, including Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
