Asiwaju Of Ile-ife, Chief Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi has commended the Baale of Ogbon-Oya, Arole Modupe Omisore for single handedly constructing 0.50 kilometre Ogbon-Oya road fully equipped with solar powered street lights
The projects, which worth millions of naira, were inaugurated by a community leader and Asiwaju of Ile-ife, Chief Oyekunle Alex-Duduyemi.
Chief Alex-Duduyemi, while commending the donor, also used the occasion to appeal to other well-meaning indigenes to contribute their quotas to the development of the ancient town.
He equally thanked Omisore for upgrading his grandfather’s tomb to a modern Mausoleum. worthy of housing the remains of his great father, late Chief Lowaku Ajani Anibijuwon Omisore, who died 84 years ago.
“What we are witnessing today is a question of History-repeating-itself,as the Omisore family is known in history for its contributions to the physical development of the city of ancient ile ife.
” I therefore want to congratulate Dupe my brother, as I normally call him for this very thoughtful project.You have not only written your name in gold but you have indeed left a legacy that would lived several decades after your departure. I therefore say:CONGRATULATIONS”.
“By this your singular act at the twilight of your life,sending signals to all the blessed and wealthy in ifeland,that ile ife,can be better than it is presently if everyone of the rich,give back to their immediate community in terms of one infrastructural development or another,instead of waiting on the government of the day, he submitted. ” He said .
Responding , Architect Modupe Omisore appreciated God for giving him the grace to add values to his community even at the riped aged and pledged not to relent in contributing more to make life better for them.
He, however, expressed happiness that he could fulfil his dream through God’s approval and cooperation of his wife, family members who stand firmly with him before, during, and after the projects execution.
The philanthropist described Omisore’s family as a wonderful indivisible lineage bonded with undiluted love, harmony, and harmony that can stand the test of time.
He thereafter charged member of the public, especially the rich ones to always remember the needy ones around them and irrigate their lives with goodies.
Also speaking, ;Prince(Hon)Ahmed Omisore, a two-term Lagos State Assembly man(2007-2015) said the day brings back the memories of an Ife High Chief and heroe who around 1910-1920 led youths to construct motorable roads linking ile ife to Ondo,Ile ife to Ede town and some Ile-Ife township roads.
He said: ” What our Arole Modupeoluwa is doing today is only repeating history,following the antecedents of the late Lowa Omisore.
He further said that their grand father,Lowa Ajani was blessed through the cycles of existence—a journey he embraced without shame. His ascent from humble beginnings at the Ooni’s Palace, serving three Oonis and becoming the most powerful High Chief, is a narrative worthy of celebration.
According to him, “today marking his 84 years of departure and beyond,Lowa Anibijuwon Omisore shall forever be regarded as a visionary. Though he may not have been educated in the conventional sense, he was a gifted real estate guru, urban and town planner, contractor, self-taught architect, and civil engineer.
“These remarkable skills were not acquired through formal education but were rather bestowed upon him by Eledumare, the Supreme Creator…And that like Solomon, who was blessed with wives and wealth beyond measure Yet, it is the essence of his character that endures; even 84 years after his passing, he remains a mystic figure in our hearts”,said Hon.Ahmed Ipoola Omisore, who equally doubled as Chairman of the Planning Committee of the event.
