Olympic bronze medalist Jerry Okorodudu dies in Lagos

Olympian and Nigerian boxer Jeremiah Okorodudu is dead.
He reportedly passed away at a Lagos private hospital on Wednesday’s night after a protracted illness.

A bronze medallist in men’s middleweight boxing event of the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, Australia,
Okorodudu was said to have been hospitalised at the Brighton Hospital in Lawanson where he was undergoing treatment for partial stroke and foot cancer.

 

Multiple sources confirmed the demise of one of Nigeria’s notable boxers and boxing coaches last night.

 

Born on May 24, 1959, the late Okorodudu represented the county in the men’s middleweight event at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
