…Applauds Army For Upholding Standards In Training Of Troops

The Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has commended the men and officers of the Nigerian Army for maintaining discipline and high professional standards that stood them out as the best among their peers during any peace keeping operations within and outside the continent.
Speaking at the end of the swimming competition by men and officers of the Nigerian Army, 6 Division Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force (South-South), Operation Delta Safe, currently holding its 2026 Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency, the Olu who was a Special Guest of Honour, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the troops.
According to him; “I must say I am very impressed by what I have seen today, I am also very honoured to be here I know this is not an official part of the celebration that we are having this week for our coronation anniversary but I wish we had made it official in a way”.
“It is a rare honour and priviledge to see our service men to go through such herculean task. Usually we always see you looking very organized and clean so to actually see you going through your training, especially under such interesting circumstance, it only makes me have even more respect for all of you serving in various military formations”.
“So I commend all of you for your display today and I wish that there is a way we could do this in the open river I know that it may be a bit tedious, but it is good to know that all our service men regardless of where you came from, your natural terrain and your natural background when there are obstacles put before you, you can adapt and overcome”.
Continuing; “It’s a testament to the Nigerian military which we are proud of everyday also discussing here your rankings in Africa consistently going up, you make us proud as a nation, please continue to be disciplined, be orderly and we have nothing but respect and support for you as one of the many host communities in the Niger-Delta here”.
“Our prayers are with you, our support all around, so thank you very much for this honour I really appreciate it and I hope it will not be the last time that we will be here, we would like to come and see more of this”.
“I was told the shooting went down, I would have loved to see the shooting but perhaps when the facilities have been upgraded we would like to be witness to that as well”.
“So once again thank you all very much, God bless you all. Congratulations to all the winners and as well as all the participants”, he stated.
Also speaking with newsmen, Brigadier General Abubakar Aliyu, who represented the General Officer Commanding, (GOC), Nigerian Army, 6 Division Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force ( South-South), Operation Delta Safe, Major General Everest Ifeanyi Okoro, applauded the superlative performance of men and officers involved in the competition.
He expressed optimism that standards of the competition would continue to get higher in subsequent years in line with global best military training and professionalism.
