Senator John Azuta Mbata, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has praised Dr. Sam Maduka Onyishi, founder of Maduka University, Nsukka, Enugu State, for his transformative investments in the South East.
Speaking at the university’s 2nd matriculation ceremony on 11 April 2025, Mbata highlighted Onyishi’s job creation efforts, noting, “We commend Dr. Sam Maduka Onyishi for empowering approximately 16,000 Nigerians through his transport company and other investments culminating in the establishment of the university.”
Mbata said Onyishi’s “Aku ruo ulo” (wealth returns home) philosophy aligns with Ohanaeze’s vision for Igboland’s development, urging Ndigbo globally to invest locally to curb insecurity and unemployment.
He lauded the university, which matriculated over 600 students, as a beacon of education and community progress.
Mbata reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting initiatives like Maduka University to drive meaningful change in Igboland.
