The Chief of Staff to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), the 2027 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Kayode Odunaro, has urged residents of Ogun West Senatorial District to unite behind the lawmaker’s ambition in order to break the region’s 50-year political jinx.
He made the call during a ward meeting and grassroots mobilisation drive at Ilaro Ward Two, Igbo-Ewe, in Yewa South Local Government Area.
Odunaro, who listed Adeola’s 14-year record of service, credited the senator with transforming the annual Oronna Ilaro Festival into an international cultural event and facilitating the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to a Federal University of Technology.
He also listed extensive constituency projects delivered by the lawmaker, including roads, ultra-modern markets, health facilities, and school buildings.
Odunaro argued that fairness and equity dictate that Ogun West should produce the state’s next governor after waiting over five decades. He urged party faithful to take the campaign from house to house and junction to junction to secure a decisive victory for Adeola.
“We need to convince many more people that Yayi is the best man for the job on the basis of proven competence, integrity, equity, and fair play,” Odunaro stated.
The Vice Chairman of Yewa South Local Government, Bankole Olarenwaju, pledged his total commitment to mobilising grassroots support for Adeola and other APC candidates.
Similarly, a former Chairman of Yewa South Local Government and former PDP leader, Sunmola Adewale, revealed that he defected to the APC specifically to support Adeola’s candidature. He urged the electorate to reject opposition tactics and back the senator to end the region’s long political exile.
