Remi Odunsi (née Oluwalogbon), National Director of Women Mobilization for the Remi Tinubu Support Organization (RETSO), has declared her bid for the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC), seeking to represent Kosofe Federal Constituency of Lagos State.
Odunsi said her entry into the race is driven by a desire to scale up her longstanding community development efforts and provide purposeful representation for her people, pledging impactful and responsive leadership if elected.
A grassroots politician with a strong record in community service and women’s empowerment, she has been instrumental in mobilizing women and promoting inclusive political participation through RETSO. She is also known for her philanthropic interventions supporting vulnerable groups through various social welfare programmes.
Her supporters describe her as a candidate with deep grassroots connection and a firm grasp of local challenges, expressing confidence in her ability to drive people-oriented development.
Odunsi holds a degree in Management and Accounting from the Obafemi Awolowo University and is certified by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
She has also attended executive programmes at Lagos Business School, Harvard University and EDHEC Business School.
She is the Founder and CEO of Eridan Group and serves on the boards of Mascot Insurance Brokers, Executive Coach Builders (USA), and Lighthouse Group.
In 2023, she led a skills acquisition and empowerment programme that impacted over 4,000 beneficiaries across Ketu, Ikeja and Epe. In 2024, she partnered with Lotus Bank to train and provide grants to market women through the Street Business School initiative.
Through her “Threefold Impact” initiative, Odunsi has facilitated solar-powered boreholes across parts of Lagos, Ogun and Ibadan, supported school renovations, and reached over 5,000 families with annual food distribution.
Explaining her motivation, she said elective office would enable her expand her interventions and contribute more effectively to policymaking.
“I have been doing this work for years without holding public office. Imagine what becomes possible when someone with genuine passion for service is elected into the National Assembly. If we are to transform lives at scale in Kosofe, we must have a seat at the table,” she said.
She unveiled a seven-point legislative agenda, including plans to establish two digital skills and enterprise centres targeting 10,000 youths, expand access to enterprise finance for women, and advocate wider coverage of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for pregnant women and children under five.
Other priorities include attracting federal infrastructure to key markets in Kosofe and supporting the formalisation of 3,000 MSMEs with access to credit and digital commerce platforms.
A recipient of the 2023 Yessiey Philanthropist of the Year Award, Odunsi said she would leverage her private sector experience and global networks to strengthen legislative representation.
“Kosofe has the people, the energy and the potential to be something remarkable. What it needs is representation that matches that potential. I am ready to help write its best chapter,” she said.
