Describes it as cheap campaign by Atiku’s camp to mislead electorates
From Ben Dunno, Warri
A prominent Obedient group in the South-South region, Niger-Delta Obidient Movement (NDOM), has described as laughable the video recently released by People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Committee where the Presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP) Mr. Peter OBI, was seen soliciting votes for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in 2019 general elections when they ran on a joint ticket.
Reacting to the viral video in a statement signed by its national Coordinator, Chief Victor Ifada, the body noted that the PDP has once again displayed its desperation to win the election at all cost, stating that it has become very obvious that the party would stop at nothing, including peddling falsehood to return back to power.
According to him; “It’s a common knowledge that Atiku and Obi ran a joint ticket in 2019 general elections when they were both in PDP and as the running mate to Atiku, it was expected of him to campaign for the party then and that was when that video was recorded to sell the party, his Principal to the public at that time”.
“It is therefore the height of democratic recklessness, irresponsibility and mischief for the PDP Presidential Campaign Committee to bring out such a video after editing it to capture only the aspect where the Labour Party candidate requested for a vote for Atiku inorder to mislead the public into believing that our Principal has stepped down for Atiku in this election”.
“We the members of the Niger Delta Obedient Movement, want to use this opportunity to urge our teeming supporters to disregard that video has it was released with a bad intent by the PDP members to set confusion in the among the teeming supporters of the Labour Party who are more than ever determined to have their Principal elected and sworn in as the President come May 29, 2023”.
“NDOM wish to appeal that we all remained focused and committed to this noble cause of ‘Taking Back Our Country’ from the oppression of greedy, selfish and corrupt politicians who have taken us for a ride all these years”.
“We here reaffirmed our commitment on the conviction that ‘A New Nigeria Is Possible’, and we are going all out to actualize it with our votes in tomorrow elections”, he stated.
