Frontline entrepreneur and philanthropist, Chief Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), has restated his commitment to representing the true spirit of Ndigbo through enterprises that create value, generate employment, and serve Nigeria and the wider global community.

Obi Cubana, chairman of the Cubana Group, stated this at Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Anambra State, while receiving a traditional title of Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba given him by the Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri Traditional Council.

Obi Cubana said he never knew his modest efforts at touching the lives of his fellow human beings would attract such huge recognition.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, he described the conferment as humbling, one that will propel him to do more for humanity.

Speaking while conferring the title on the renowned entrepreneur at a grand and culturally rich ceremony, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Igwe

Ralph Obumneme Ekpe, stated that Obi Cubana’s accomplishments in business, his enduring philanthropic impact, and his embodiment of the Igbo spirit of enterprise, excellence, and communal uplift, earned him the title.

According to the monarch, the title, “Ife-Igbo-Ji-Ka-Mba,” loosely translated as Igbo’s cherished gift to the world, reflects a profound acknowledgment of “Obi Cubana’s outstanding service to humanity, his unmatched legacy, and the significant honour his achievements continue to bring to Ndigbo globally.”

The Igwe and his council of chiefs commended Dr. Iyiegbu’s visionary leadership, value-driven entrepreneurship, and consistent commitment to social impact, qualities that have distinguished him across industries and borders and which have brought honour to Igbo all over the world.

The Igwe-in-Council described how Obi Cubana’s values, business ventures, attributes, and accomplishments have distinguished the Igbo remarkably from other groups.

The ceremony attracted an array of dignitaries from banking, oil and gas, real estate, hospitality, and other sectors, alongside prominent business and community leaders.
