Obi Amarachukwu has emerged winner of 2022 Eze Ndi Igbo Ghana Unity cup by beating Ultimate Power Ministry by 3 goals to 2.
In a well contested game played before a large cheering spectators, both teams slugged it out as they tried to outwit one another.
Earlier in the day, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana and the convener of the tournament, HRM Eze Dr Chukwudi Ihenetu unveiled the cup and medals to be given to the contestants.
According to the Royal father, the winner of the Trophy will go home with 1million Naira, runner up, 500 thousand Naira and 3rd place position 250 thousand Naira.
HRM Ihenetu also added that special awards would also be given to best goalkeeper, highest scorer and most entertaining team.
On why he organised the tournament, HRM Ihenetu said the essence was to unite Ndigbo in Ghana towards one purpose – peace.
He said since the tournament was flagged off 2 months ago it has engaged the players and their supporters who weekly participated in the event.
while congratulating the winning team, HRM Ihenetu said all the participating teams are winners. He commended Obi Amarachukwu team for their perseverance, team spirit and discipline that resulted in their victory as champion of the tournament.
Highlights of the game was presentation of medals to officials, players and the trophy to the captain of Obi Amarachukwu team,being the winner of the tournament.
