Former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, Governors Babajide Sanwoolu of Lagos, Ademola Adeleke of Osun and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, in Sunday stormed Ile-Ife for the installation of the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, as Yeye Asiwaju Oodua.

Other dignitaries include Leader of the Senate, Opeyemi Bamidele, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, former Ogun state governor, Ibikunle Amosun, former first lady, Dr. Patience Jonathan, wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima; wife of the speaker, Hajia Fatimoh Abass; wife of Chief of Staff to the president, Hajia Salamatu Gbajabiamila, among others.
Others are Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Nigeria is Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Emir of Zazzau (Zaria), Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, Orangun of Ila, Oba AbduWahab Oyedotun, Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, among others.
Senator Remi Tinubu, appreciated Ooni for considering her for the title, assuring that Nigeria will soon be great.

“Today is a not a day of long speeches, I want to thank the people of Ile-Ife, I also thanks the Ooni of Ile-Ife for bestowing such honor.
“Nigeria’s joy has comes, those wondering how we want to do it we will show them how things are being done. By 2026, Nigeria will be in prosperity, other countries will come and borrow money from us.
“It is important to say it here at the source of the Yoruba cradle today, that during this present administration led by President Bola Tinubu, they will wonder how he was able to achieve such milestone,” she said.
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, congratulated Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi on his 10th anniversary on the throne, noting that the last one decade of the monarch has witnessed dramatic revival of tradition and culture of Yoruba people.
“Our government has a strong partner with our royal father as we implement that same vision of an upgraded cultural capital of Yoruba people.
“In line with that vision, our government embarked on an infra upgrade of Ile Ife with 14 roads completed so far and several others ongoing. We are about to complete the first ever flyover bridge in this cradle of Yoruba nation.
“We know of several abandoned projects in this city. We immediately mapped out plans to complete them in partnership with the Federal Government. Currently, a cultural tourism plan is ongoing to expand and strengthen Ile Ife cultural assets. The goal is to triple tourist inflow into this traditional home of all Yoruba people,” Adeleke said.
