Open Access Data Centres (OADC) Lagos has reiterated its support for the nation’s data protection and digital transformation agenda through its sponsorship and participation in the National Privacy Week Summit organised by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

The summit brought together policymakers, regulators, technology providers and industry stakeholders to promote data privacy awareness, strengthen compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) and advance discussions on data security, sovereignty and responsible data governance.

OADC Lagos said its involvement aligns with the Federal Government’s drive to encourage local data hosting and data domiciliation, which have become increasingly important for safeguarding sensitive information, improving regulatory oversight and strengthening trust in Nigeria’s digital economy.

The company operates a carrier-neutral, Tier III Design-certified data centre in Lekki, Lagos, providing infrastructure that enables government institutions and private sector organisations to host and manage data locally in line with international standards.

Speaking on the engagement, Adesola Adesugba, Country Marketing Manager, Open Access Data Centres Nigeria, said the company remains committed to supporting national digital development efforts.

“We are pleased to support the Nigeria Data Protection Commission through the National Privacy Week Summit and to align with government efforts to advance Nigeria’s digital transformation,” Adesugba said. “Local data hosting and domiciliation are central to national data sovereignty, enhanced security and sustainable digital growth.”

OADC’s participation at the summit, according to the company, reflects its role as a digital infrastructure provider supporting secure cloud connectivity, regulatory compliance and the long-term growth of Nigeria’s digital ecosystem.

Open Access Data Centres is part of the WIOCC Group, which operates open-access data centres across Africa, serving cloud service providers, network operators, enterprises and public sector institutions.
