NYSC: 8 Corps members abscond in Osun, 5 get extension of service

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Osun State, on Thursday, disclosed that eight corps members have absconded during the service as 3,068 passed out in the state.

The state coordinator, Mrs Abdulwahab Olayinka, disclosed that five corps members would get an extension of service.

She stated this during the Passing Out Ceremony of the 2021 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 held in Osogbo, the state capital.

Olayinka advised the corps members to inculcate the tradition of discipline, hard work, and self-reliance that they have learnt in the scheme.

The Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola saluted the courage, enthusiasm and doggedness exhibited by the corps members throughout the one-year service to the nation in the state.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lawal Olayemi, Oyetola advised the corps members to always make use of training garnered in the one-year scheme to move the country forward.
