The Nigerian Youth Council of Nigeria [NYCN] Diaspora Alliance chapters across Europe, have elected Ikenna Nkem, popularly known as Dr. Chris, as the new Chairman of the NYCN Diaspora Alliance.
It was gathered that the election took place on May 17, 2026.
The election was conducted following a unified decision by all NYCN Europe diaspora chapters to come together and elect a leader to advance the interests of Nigerian youths in the diaspora.

Nkem currently serves as the Vice President of the NYCN Spanish Chapter, and brings a huge wealth of experience in youth mobilization, advocacy and community building to his new role.
Under his leadership, the alliance aims to strengthen unity among chapters, improve representation and advocacy for Nigerian youth abroad, and create more opportunities for empowerment, mentorship and cultural pride.
Meanwhile, the newly elected chairman has called on all members and chapters to work together in building an alliance that is visible, impactful and respected globally.
He equally made it clear that his mandate is to unite and advance Nigerian youth across the diaspora.
While highlighting his vision and mission for Nigerian youth in the diaspora, he added that under his new leadership, there will be a clear direction with the theme: “Build the youth, build the nation.”
A strong advocate for unity, peace and even representation, Nkem said he intend to foster solidarity among members, by resolving disputes peacefully and positioning Nigerian youth as responsible and law-abiding ambassadors abroad.
