Nwifuru swears-in 64 new aides in Ebonyi LGs

Ebonyi

Ebonyi State governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, on Monday swore-in 64 Development Centre Coordinators across the 13 local government areas of the state.

Development Centres are sub-divisions of  local governments in the state. They were  created by the first civilian governor of the state, Sen. Sam Egwu to bring development nearer to the grassroots.

Thirty four of them  were created by that Egwu administration while Egwu’s successor, Chief Martin Elechi increased them to 64.

The last Coordinators appointed by former governor David Umahi who is now Minister of Works, were dissolved last year when his administration was winding up.

Governor Francis Nwifuru last week forwarded list of those he appointed the Coordinators to the state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The Coordinators made up of 13 women and 51 men, were however sworn-in at the exco chambers, new government hose, centenary city Abakaliki the state capital by the government.

Nwifuru charged them to go to the local governments in the state and bring development to their areas and the state.
