The Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has unveiled renewed operational strategies to strengthening the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.
The State Commandant, Jibrin Idris, on Tuesday order his officers and men to enhance surveillance and intelligence-sharing mechanisms to curb vandalism as well as establish regular contact with critical stakeholders in the state.
According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Saad, in a statement, the Commandant also tasked the officers to strengthen synergy with other security agencies in the state and convene meetings with stakeholders on safeguarding national assets within their areas of responsibility.

Buhari stated that Commandant Idris gave the directive during a strategic meeting with Heads of Departments, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Officers in the state. According to him, the session focused on revitalizing the command’s security framework, with particular emphasis on intelligence gathering, surveillance, and community collaboration.
“Commandant Idris charged officers to intensify 24-hour vigilance around critical assets and maintain high levels of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties,” Idris said while stressing that effective law enforcement in contemporary Nigeria requires robust collaboration with host communities and stakeholders.
