The Gombe State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 27-year-old suspect for allegedly burning down four houses in the Gombe community.
Reports indicated that the incident occurred last Wednesday night in the Dele Jesus community of Balanga Local Government Area (LGA) of Gombe State.
Commenting on the incident, the state Commandant, NSCDC, Muhammad Bello Muazu, disclosed that the arrest followed a tip-off on the development, and that the Corps quickly intervened and arrested the suspect.
He explained that the suspect, who was identified as Segun Bulus, set fire to four houses in the Dele Jesus Community of the LGA, adding that the act caused extensive damage and left several families homeless.
“The reason for the act was said to be as a result of a little misunderstanding between the culprit and a kid brother to the victim; the suspect was apprehended and brought to the office in Cham, while the investigation is still ongoing. As soon as the investigation is completed, the suspected will be taken to court to face the wrath of the law,” the Commandant told Daily Sun.
