For UK-based Nigerian author, Abimbola Davies, not having a father figure while growing up impacted her negatively.

Speaking on women empowerment talk show, The Minasdollz Show, the author of Accidental Wife said: “I didn’t realise how much not having a father figure growing up affected me until I got married.

“It actually gave me a sense of insecurity. It was difficult for me to trust men. And when I eventually got married, I was always asking my husband if he was in the marriage to stay or if he would go away.

“So, for me, I think the ideal thing is to have both parents bring up a child.”

Speaking on the same show, social media influencer, Kirly Sue said, “It is better if both parents bring up a child. For God to have made it that two people bring a child into the world, I think it ideal that both parents bring up a child. I’m grateful for having both my parents.”

The show came to a close with a performance by Jason of The Voice, UK.
