The General Overseer of Divine Appointment Ministry, Ajah, Lagos, Rev. Ben Eragbai, has said that his greatest regret was not accepting Jesus Christ early in life.
According to him, he was in the university at the same time with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, the General Overseer of Chris Embassy, though both of them were in the different universities in Edo State, but Chris accepted Christ very early, but he was delaying and evading the call of God until after graduation and was deep in the ‘world’ before the grace of God found him.
Eragbai, who celebrates his 60th birthday tomorrow at his church, spoke with Saturday Sun on the story of his life, and how through the grace of God he has removed many criminals from the streets of Lagos with his empowerment programmes.
“Some of the ‘boys’ whose families had written off are now ministers of God, while others are doing well in other endeavours. This was the outcome of our empowerment programmes, and we are not giving up. We are fighting cultism and drug addiction among young people,” he said.
He reminded Nigerians that the hardship in the country, which he said was ‘unfortunate’ didn’t start today, noting that; “it has been with us for a long time, prompting some of the country’s best musicians – Fela, Sonny Okosun, Ras Kimono and others to make music out of the ugly situation. I know God will intervene, it will not continue forever.” One of the highlights of his diamond jubilee celebration is the empowerment of the masses and the distribution of palliatives to them. “We are going to share rice, beans and other food items to the people; it is not going to be our church members alone, but as many that would come must go home with food items. It is my little way of putting smiles on the faces of some Nigerians,” Eragbai said.
