Norway doctor confirms players now healthy

Norway

Norway were reportedly hit by a sickness bug this week ahead of their World Cup clash with England.

Reports claimed this week that tensions in the Norway camp were high as several players were not being totally fit for the Quarter Final clash against the Three Lions.

Manager Stale Solbakken who was spotted coughing violently while speaking to the press opened up on the illnesses this week as fans began to grow worried.

Solbakken said: “Really, only Jorgen (Strand Larsen) has had a fever, though there’s been some coughing and rasping here and there.

“But then again, there’s the air conditioning, the flying, the travelling, and all that.

“There are over fifty of us, so it would be strange if nothing popped up.”

According to Dagbladet, fears of fatigue, illness and the effects of the jet-setting have caused distress within their camp which also led to Marcus Holmgren Pedersen being absent for the Brazil clash.

The good news for the national side is that Norway’s team doctor has played down the situation as he confirmed “all players are healthy now.”

“Very little fuss considering that we have been close together for almost six weeks,” he added before he was asked about the English reaction to reports.

“So great that they believe this. We are in control. Very little fuss considering that we have been close together for almost six weeks.”

A win for either side will set up a semi-final meeting with one of Argentina, Egypt, Switzerland or Colombia and it looks like both sides will be at full strength for the clash.
