Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, has debunked reports of an alleged rift between him, NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko, and the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau.

Olopade made the clarification yesterday at a press conference during the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, stressing that the rumour was unfounded and aimed at creating disunity within the sports sector.

“It is so shameful for such a journalist to write something so narrow-minded,” Olopade said. “Shehu Dikko and I are working to create a system that is production-oriented and not consumption-oriented. That’s why we have bided for the Commonwealth Games. We are a family, we are focus-driven and desirous of bringing Nigeria to the World Cup. There are no issues between Gusau, Sanusi, Dikko, and I.”

The NSC boss applauded Delta State for always delivering what he described as “spectacular Games” whenever called upon to host.

He however, revealed that the next host of the National Youth Games will be announced on September 7, 2025.
