NIPCO

Amid challenges in the downstream sector of the economy, NIPCO Plc, an integrated downstream operator in Nigeria’s hydrocarbon industry, has tasked its employees to increase their efforts, as the organisation aims to be a leader in the oil and gas sector for the good of all stakeholders.

Managing director/CEO of the company, Suresh Kumar, speaking at a ceremony in Lagos organised to recognise and celebrate over 20 employees who have worked for the company for between 10 and 20 years, said staff diligence and dedication have been major contributions to the company’s overall growth.

The ceremony, presided over by the MD / CEO, included the presentation of long service award plaques and other ancillary benefits during the meeting, which also had in attendance all cadres of employees in the company.

Kumar highlighted the contributions of the award recipients, some of whom were among the company’s first staff members,

“These employees have contributed significantly to the development and growth of the organisation,” he stated. “The commitment shown by the awardees aligns with the company’s expansion goals pursued over the past two decades, a point appreciated by management.”

According to him, “It is encouraging that several of you have been part of the Company’s achievements over the last twenty-one years.” Adding that the workers commitment reflects NIPCO’s reputation as a preferred workplace and provides an example to new employees.

Since its establishment in 2004, the company has seen positive developments, yet there are areas identified for further improvement, especially with the deregulation of the downstream sector.

The MD congratulated the long service award recipients and wished them success in their future roles at the company.

Suresh Kumar also indicated that one of the key objectives of the Human Resources department is to support rewarding careers for employees and promote a supportive work environment.

“Initiatives such as these awards allow employees to realise their potential within a performance-driven organisation,” he said.

Manager of LPG Operations,  Khamal Badmus, expressed appreciation on behalf of the awardees, for the recognition, stating that it would serve as “encouragement for continued diligent service and motivate newer employees.”
