In one of the most emotional moments at Tech Cirvee Fest 2.0, Amb. Nimi Adegbite, Founder of Cirvee and Convener of the event, gifted a brand-new MacBook to a young aspiring UI/UX designer — a moment that captured the heart of the entire crowd.
The recipient, currently learning design at Larva Academy, had shown Nimi samples of her work during the event. What stood out wasn’t just her talent — it was her story. Her only laptop was failing, and she had no backup. But despite the odds, she kept showing up, learning, creating, and dreaming.
“I was genuinely impressed by what she had done,” Nimi said. “It reminded me of myself years ago — starting out as a designer with nothing but determination. I knew she needed more than encouragement. She needed a real tool to grow.”
With that, he handed her a new MacBook live on stage — a gesture that drew cheers from the crowd and heartfelt reactions online. A tweet from a fellow attendee quickly went viral:
“Her former laptop didn’t even have a backup. This is such a huge win!”
This single moment underscored what Tech Cirvee Fest truly represents — not just talks and tech, but access, empowerment, and belief in the next generation.
Held at Tutu’s Event Place, Samonda, Ibadan, and powered by Cirvee with Jeroid as headline sponsor, the festival drew over 5,000 attendees, with performances, celebrity appearances, giveaways, red carpet sessions, and the graduation of over 100 Cirvee Academy students.
For one young creative, it became much more than an event.
It became a turning point.
