The Nigerians in Diaspora Organization, Europe (NIDOE), Ireland Chapter, has vowed to fight against sexual harassment of women, which it noted is fast becoming a norm.
Addressing women via a Zoom conference, a human rights leader, Mrs Tina Ohaa, said the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, “Accelerate Action,” is apt following constant reports of atrocities against women.
Ohaa, a legal luminary, during the event urged all women’s organisations, especially the International Women Organisation (IWO), to introduce and advocate for legal reforms, particularly in female schools.
She said, “Sexual harassment is becoming alarming today and this has to stop; it’s reported daily in most of our schools, even at places of work, and this is the time something is done about it.

“I will also strengthen accountability, hold institutions accountable for the prevention of sexual harassment and discrimination of women at their places of work.”
Also speaking as an invited guest during the meeting, her husband, Chief Chiyeanka Ohaa, former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youths and currently the Pro-Chancellor, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, lauded women for showing resilience in their daily activities.
