The Nigerian Students Coalition for National Progress under the auspices of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has congratulated Comptroller Babatunde Olomu of the Apapa Command on his promotion to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of the Nigeria Customs Service.

This was conveyed in a Wednesday statement signed by National Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NANS, Comrade Samson Adeyemi.

Before his promotion to ACG, Olomu served as Customs Area Controller of Apapa Port Command.

The coalition said Olomu’s meritorious elevation testifies to his exceptional leadership, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to national service.

The statement reads, “Over the years, ACG Olomu has distinguished himself as a dedicated public servant with a proven track record of excellence, particularly during his tenure at the Apapa Command.

“Under his visionary leadership, the command recorded outstanding achievements in revenue generation and anti-smuggling operations, significantly bolstering Nigeria’s economic integrity and border security.”

The coalition said Olomu’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and operational excellence has made a lasting impact on the Nigeria Customs Service and the country at large.

It added, “As students and young patriots committed to national progress, we recently passed a Vote of Confidence on the Comptroller General of Customs.

“In the same spirit, we now commend ACG Babatunde Olomu for his transformative leadership and resolute dedication to duty.

“ACG Olomu symbolises the future of a reformed, efficient, and people-oriented Nigeria Customs Service.

“We therefore urge all relevant stakeholders and the general public to support him as he steps into this higher responsibility.”

The coalition also reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with him while expressing its readiness to stand against any attempt to distract or undermine his efforts.
