The Rwanda National Police has cautioned a Nigerian content creator, Sunjohn Nwose, after he shared a video of himself sitting on a public road while filming to showcase the cleanliness of Rwanda’s streets.
In the video, Nwose was seen seated directly on the roadway as he recorded an act that drew attention and concern from authorities.
While acknowledging what it described as positive intentions behind the clip, the police stressed that occupying an active roadway violates road safety regulations and poses a serious risk to both the individual and other road users.

In a statement posted on its official X handle, the police said:
“Hello. While we appreciate the good intentions behind this clip, recording content in the roadway is unsafe and violates road safety regulations, as it puts road users at risk. For everyone’s safety, we advise that filming be done in safe areas. Thank you.”
Authorities noted that incidents of this nature underscore the importance of adhering to safety guidelines, particularly when creating viral or attention-grabbing content.
The police further urged social media influencers and content creators to prioritise public safety over aesthetics, warning that seemingly harmless actions could result in avoidable accidents.
