#JusticeforOchanya

Some prominent figures in Nigeria’s entertainment sector have joined the #JusticeforOchanya campaign, urging the reopening of the case of 13-year-old Ochanya Ogbanje.

On Thursday, figures like as Tiwa Savage, Jemima Osunde, Aproko Doctor, Saskay, Mr. Macaroni, and many others went to their X handles speak about the matter.

Tiwa Savage shared her opinion on the matter, pushing people to speak up and march for justice. She emphasised the need of keeping children safe and preventing sexual abuse.

“My heart is heavy. A young girl suffered unthinkable pain at the hands of those meant to protect her and lost her life because of it. We can’t stay silent. We can’t continue to hide behind family titles and tradition. She deserves justice. Every child deserves safety. #Justiceforochanya,’ she wrote.

Influencer Tunde Ednut, addressing his 8.7 million Instagram followers, shared: “She must get justice……. PLEASE REPOST IN YOUR OWN WAY “JUSTICE FOR OCHANYA” ON YOUR STORIES!!! She must get justice. Father and son start to r*pe that small girl from age 8 till she kpai for age 13. Kai!.”

Other celebrities posted the hashtag, while some also demanded that justice prevail over the case.

13-year-old Ochanya was a student of the Federal Government Girls College, Gboko, who reportedly died from Vesicovaginal Fistula (VVF). She was said to have developed this condition from allegedly being sexually assaulted by her uncle, Andrew Ogbuja and cousin, Victor Ogbuja for 5 years.
