Nollywood is expanding into new terrain, as The Wiccan Girl, a horror film by Nigerian-Canadian filmmakers, is set to hit cinemas.
The Wiccan Girl revolves around a young college student, who goes out in search of her friend that is mysteriously trapped in a diabolical cabin; and for this, she faces dire consequences for rescuing her.
Produced by a team of Nigerian/Canadian filmmakers, The Wiccan Girl, a larger part of which was shot in Canada, features a predominantly black cast including Linda Osifo, Nosa Obaseki and Nafisat Abdullahi. The producers include Austin Odigie, who also doubles as the director; KC Muel Chinwuko; Ambrose Okundaye; Isoken Ibieorutomwen and Massia Houri.
While Nollywood’s Toka Mcbaror is the production designer, Confidence Nwogu and Adeniyi Adewole emerge as the executive producers. The movie will be released on streaming platforms.
